Megan Walsh, MSW - Founder
In 2021, Bridges to Understanding was founded by Megan Walsh as a way to create community for her family and other families like hers who have a child with a disability. Megan has 20 years of experience in social work and she uses this knowledge and expertise to support families. Megan is currently a social worker at the Center for Leadership in Disability at Georgia State University, where she supports the GaLEND program and other initiatives supporting families who have a disabled loved one. Megan’s vision for Bridges to Understanding is for all neurodivergent families to feel welcome, supported and seen.
We hope to provide an inclusive, supportive space for neurodivergent children and their families by building community, sharing resources, and educating others based on lived experiences.
